Industrial Property Development Company in Africa: Project Expertise
Private industrial property development in Africa has gained tremendous traction over the last couple of years. GREA has identified the demand for appropriate properties and skills to plan and oversee such developments, upgrades and refurbishments on the continent.
Two of the private industrial property construction projects undertaken by the company are that of:
- Bolloré Logistics Warehouse
- Halliburton Liquid Mud Plant
Bolloré Logistics Warehouse
The warehouse is located in Pemba, Mozambique. It has been developed on a site covering 11,927 m². The development spans a gross building area (“GBA”) of 7,883 m² and a GLA of 7,486 m². It includes 32 parking bays. GREA has been commissioned as the private industrial property development company to refurbish and expand the property footprint on behalf of the client.
GREA has also been tasked to provide bespoke and turnkey services to transform the light industrial warehouse into a building suitable for the requirements of the tenant. This entailed increasing the total lettable area by 55% from 4,817 m² to the current 7,486 m². The anchor tenant for which the property has been upgraded, Bolloré Logistics Africa, is a leading logistics provider on the continent, handling large cargo shipments.
Pemba is a major port city in the country. The city also has a small airport and boasts a population of 201 846 (according to a 2017 census).
Halliburton Liquid Mud Plant
Also located in Pemba, Mozambique, the project on a site of 4,877 m², has a GBA of 1,350 m² and the development has an efficiency ratio of 100%. GREA commenced with the project at the start of 2019 and completed it in March 2019.
The beach-front property is situated in the port town of Pemba, which is located in the Northern part of the country. The property’s location gives it direct access to a floating rig. The location is significant as the port is near Rovuma Area’s reservoirs, where there is a plan in place for the extraction of over 180 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
Mozambique is only one of the many countries where GREA has completed industrial, commercial, health industry, data centres and retail-related property projects. Other countries include, but are not limited to:
- Mauritius – Coromandel Hospital and The Precinct office project.
- Nigeria – Project commissioned by Africa Data Centres for the construction of the first phase of a Tier III data centre in Lagos.
- Uganda – Metroplex Shopping Centre redevelopment project in Kampala.
- Morocco – Refurbishment of the Anfaplace Mall in Casablanca.
The above list contains some examples of the current and completed projects with which GREA has been involved. Visit the Projects Overview section to get an overview of related projects in other countries on the continent.
The company manages several such and related developments across the retail, health, specialist, corporate accommodation and commercial property sectors. GREA’s footprint of completed and current projects across several African countries serves as testimony to the company’s expertise and credibility.
